NCSAA Wellspring of Life Initiative

"Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life."

                                                                                                                    - Proverbs 4:23

The mission of the Wellspring of Life Initiative is to train coaches and athletic leaders in the way to enable athletes to "declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).

We believe that this mission (which has, as its ultimate goal, the sculpting of our athletes' hearts) can be accomplished only by God's Holy Spirit.  Thus, we encourage the intentionality and action of coaches and athletic leaders -- to model dependence upon God, care for their athletes, commit to integrity in their programs, and invest time and energy in helping their players to think, live, train, and compete according to the truth of Scripture.

The vision of this program is rooted in the following values:

bullet

We value knowing God as the goal of all activity (including athletics).

bullet

We value God's Word as the source of all truth, life, knowledge, and teaching.

bullet

We value people, who are made in the image of God and for His glory.

bullet

We value God's intent in salvation and the redemption of the hearts and lives of His people.

bullet

We value God's purpose to bring redemption to creation and culture (including, but not limited to, athletics).
